“How does it benefit society to hold Quincy’s genious hostage just because the dude that sang his sh*t ended up being a full-blown child molester?”

That’s what Rob, the nerdy/music-lover main character of Hulu’s brand new reboot of TV serie “High Fidelity” stated about Michael Jackson in front of some friends in her record store while a woman was looking for a vinyl copy of Off The Wall to donate as a present.

The show, which premiered only a week ago, received overall positive critics, scoring a 7.1 out of 10 on IMDB. But that specific scene is mean, annoying and totally unecessary for many fans who expressed their anger on social media (as always). The part was written by television producer Veronica West and her colleague, Sarah Kucserka, who is linked to Harvey Weinstein’s (ex) film studio for the creation of 2005 movies Venom and Cursed.

At this point, what does media mogul Harvey Weinstein really have to do with “High Fidelity”s slander towards Michael Jackson?

As I wrote on my Instagram stories for "MJ News", Weinstein is friends with lots of celebrities, tabloid journalists and producers such as Oprah, A.J. Benza and the National Enquirer's editor in chief, Dylan Howard. Those that work/worked with (or for) him generally share a common trait: bashing other famous people’s names, including Michael’s.

In fact, when his infamous sexual harassment allegations came out in 2017, Weinstein reached out to who he knows well asking for help to produce gossip so he could draw the media’s attention away from his complicated affair.

Following my previous example, A.J. Benza reported scandalous stories on The King of Pop in the 1990s and we all heard of/watched Oprah’s interview with Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck...

After pointing up this whole stuff, can we say that Rob’s awful comment on “High Fidelity”s episode is actually a part of Weinstein’s strategy to preserve his name by destroying others?

We shall not jump into conclusions so fast but, for sure, that denigrating scene shouldn’t have been added in the final show at all.
